For over a month I looked forward to our visit in Bukit Lawang with the Orangutans. It was one of those dreams that is so far back in your head because you don’t know that you will ever be able to do it.

This is how Bukit Lawang feels. It is so perfect it seems as though it were put there just for you, like there is no way it can be real. Each flower, bush and plant is perfectly manicured and placed to compliment the stone homes and small bed and breakfasts that line the narrow cobblestone path.

Visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple

The Dambulla Cave Temple is the largest group of cave temples in Sri Lanka. There are 5 caves in total which were built as shrine rooms between 85-77 BC. The caves are built at the top of a steep hill (of course), but don’t let that discourage you.
