Back in the States

We came back to the states four days ago. It hasn’t been as shocking of a transition as our move back from Italy 9 years ago. However, there are still some things I will miss, and some things I won’t.

Do You Know How It Feels To Be Hungry?

Yesterday a friend of mine in Honduras asked me if I knew what it felt like to be hungry. I realized I don’t. I mean I know how it feels to be that grumpy hungry when I haven’t eaten in a while, but actually hungry where there is no prospect of food, I have no idea.

We moved to Utila at the beginning of the summer, or also known as the drier season. We are living in a home that belongs to someone else so we were hyper conscious about using all the rain water collected.

Getting Used To Grocery Shopping in Utila

I still get to ride to the grocery store and back by boat, and still have much less stress than I did in the States getting groceries. Now, I just accept what I can get and make it work. The funny thing is, it really doesn’t affect us either way if we can or can’t have the things we were so used to getting before.
