Each morning they come to their trees to pull the milky substance out of the bowls and make sure there is still liquid flowing from the tree. They do this seven days a week 365 days a year. It is hard work with unfortunately very little financial return.
This is how Bukit Lawang feels. It is so perfect it seems as though it were put there just for you, like there is no way it can be real. Each flower, bush and plant is perfectly manicured and placed to compliment the stone homes and small bed and breakfasts that line the narrow cobblestone path.
